The national childcare crisis revolves around three main issues: childcare costs are high, quality is a challenge and educators are underpaid and often underappreciated. At A Million Dreamz, we are changing the face of childcare and our teachers are a top priority. Without these dedicated individuals, we would not be able to offer the care and education that we work diligently to provide for families throughout Sheboygan County.
Did you know there are educational requirements to be a childcare teacher? Though the minimum classes offered by the state are non-credited through the college system, many of our teachers and childcare providers throughout the area possess extensive education. Each year, they are required to complete at least 15 hours of continuing education. These professionals are here with their heart and soul and are most often paid less than a cook at a drive-through restaurant.
As we seek to provide world-class early childhood education, we understand that our teachers are the cornerstone of our organization. We provide access to education and scholarships, support their learning from every angle and offer advancement opportunities. We are building a fund to help increase their pay to a living wage, offer more in-house learning opportunities and create access to much-needed benefits that are rare in our field.
Please consider supporting our staff with a donation of any size. Working with financial professionals, we are building a fund that will one day support these programs on its own through careful investment and shrewd planning. Until then, every donation will directly benefit the teachers and staff who work hard each day to provide unparalleled care and learning for the children in our community.
